Here are some notes regarding the usage of logo files.
- Always try the PDF file first. It's a high-resolution vector format file that can be used in large format printing, but is small enough to be used in word processing programs. It has a transparent background, so there won't be a white box around the file.
- If the PDF file doesn't work, the PNG and SVG also have transparent backgrounds and are large enough for most printed applications. The SVG file is the preferred format for the web, but it's a fairly new technology that may not work in some online software platforms. If that doesn't work, the PNG is a good option.
- Finally, the JPG file is safe to use anywhere. The resolution is large enough that it shouldn't be pixelated in most printed applications, but it's a "flattened" file, which means if you place the logo over a colored background you'll see a white box around the logo. (This is also why there is no JPG file of the white version.
